Iceland – a magical, unspoiled land. A mesmerizing visual experience with rugged landscapes, wide open spaces and otherworldly scenery, (We’re talking volcanoes, glaciers and waterfalls – Oh My!)
We visited in May, 2022 in search of quiet, beauty and wonder – we returned peacefully with a renewed love for mother nature and in pursuit of simple living.
Favorite memories:
Being awestruck by Iceland’s utterly magnificent waterfalls. The drama and energy of the water endlessly cascading is simply awe inspiring. The euphoric effect on your well being (not to mention complexion) from the negative ions continuously being released is simply undeniable. Incredibly invigorating. Breathtakingly beautiful.
Socializing in the stunning geothermal, natural pool at The Secret Lagoon. Imagine spending happy hour in nature’s oldest pool – at the perfect temperature * about 4′ deep, with a glass of bubbly?! Fun, Fun, Fun! We can’t imagine a better way to end the week… Your visit is capped off with an invigorating shower – and the best body scrub there ever was! – and then a relaxing sauna. This escapade was everything: beautiful, relaxing, fun and social. Will absolutely visit again…
* “Litli Geysir provides 100% of the water supply in the lagoon. The water flows continuously, and takes only 24 hours for its complete replacement. Warm, clean and rich in sulphur.”
A trip to Iceland wouldn’t be complete without a visit to The Blue Lagoon. This legendary hotel attracts visitors from around the globe for its therapeutic pools, world class spa, exceptional design and service. Simply beautiful living – and THE MOST comfortable hotel beds and linens – ever! Like sleeping on a cloud… They got it all right here…
A totally memorable and charming experience was our overnight stay at The 5 Million Star Hotel. Talk about living life in a bubble! Quiet, pretty, comfortable and novel. Can’t think of a better place to gaze at the stars and slumber…
Overall, a completely therapeutic vacation that was good for the lungs and great for the soul.
Would we go back and do it all over again? In a heartbeat. Nothing else quiet like it in the world…
Consistently rated the most peaceful nation in Europe and notably the least populated.
